Note: Deo Juvante, is Latin for "With God's help".

Picts are part of the same group of people referred to as Vikings; Normans are another part of this group. "Vikings" simply means pirates; Picts used blue dye to cover their bodies with tattoos which they thought made them more frightening to their enemy. They are one of the 3 major tribes to invade England that left a long-lasting memory: Anglos (who used swords), Saxons (used axes) and Picts (used spears). The Angles also gave their name to the country of England. That other name for the country, Britain, came from the Bretons. It is ironic that the Celts, who arose in the Middle East and were mentioned by the historians in both Ancient Greece (Celts is derived from a Greek word) and Ancient Rome and were heathens for most of their existence are best remembered for the Celtic Cross and actually contributed little to the British Isles. As the people of the British Isles are rather homogeneous, most likely if your ancestors are from the British Isles you have Picts for ancestors. But, that is merely an informed guess, if you will: none of those tribes have existed for centuries. So modern descendants can only go on the premise that they had Picts in their ancestry if they came from the British Isles.

As a final note, though this document deals with Scotland and possible other lands, there is no mention of France where I have found the oldest roots of the Tassé heritage.
